UAE, Sri Lanka explore stronger investment, tourism ties

The UAE and Sri Lanka have discussed strengthening investment ties, easing travel flows and sharing expertise in hospitality and hotel management.

The talks in Dubai brought together UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri and Sri Lanka’s Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath.

Bin Touq highlighted tourism as a key driver of economic cooperation, noting that the UAE welcomed more than 43,333 Sri Lankan visitors in the first five months of 2026, following 153,430 arrivals in 2025.

The ministers also highlighted 107 weekly direct flights between the two countries as evidence of strong travel and trade connectivity.  -TradeArabia News Service
