ASRY announces winners of its inaugural Ibtaker Award

The Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard Company (ASRY) has announced the winners of the first Cycle of its 'Ibtaker' Award, recently launched to foster a culture of creativity and out of the box thinking across the workplace. 

The initiative aligns with ASRY’s core values, which emphasize innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement. 

The winners were selected after several evaluation stages, during which five innovative ideas were chosen from seven employees representing various departments.

ASRY said all the winners will receive cash prizes and trophies in recognition of their valuable contributions to ASRY’s innovation journey.

The Gold Award was presented to Ali Anwar and Sandeep Kumar, for their idea 'Operational Efficiency in Client Material Storage'; while the Silver Award went to Mohsen Aatef and Husain AlShaikh for their idea 'Digital Permit to Work System.'

The Bronze Award was clinched by Jaafar Alkhayyat for his idea 'Streamlining QC Inspections at ASRY.'

Additionally, Mostafa Elemam received the Smart Maintenance Award for his idea, 'Smart IoT Health Monitoring' and Abdulla Alkhan earned the Operational Efficiency Award for his idea 'Crane Booking Application.'

On the key initiative, CEO Dr Ahmed Al Abri said: "The launch of the Ibtaker Award reflects ASRY’s commitment to empowering its people and nurturing a workplace culture built on creative thinking and practical innovation. The ideas presented in this first edition demonstrated outstanding potential and remarkable capabilities from our employees across departments."

"We witnessed a genuine drive to improve processes and enhance performance, confirming that innovation has become an integral part of ASRY’s organizational culture," he stated. 

He further reaffirmed the company’s commitment to continuing the development of similar initiatives and adopting applicable proposals within ASRY’s ongoing development and transformation plans.

Shaikh Duaij bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, the Vice President for Corporate Support at ASRY, said: "The Ibtaker Award has proven to be an effective platform for encouraging employees to share their innovative ideas and development-focused proposals. At ASRY, we believe that every creative employee is a key partner in shaping the company’s future."

Founded in 1977 in the Kingdom of Bahrain, ASRY is the Gulf region’s most experienced maritime repair and fabrication facility. 

Its leading range of facilities includes a 500 K dwt dry-dock, two floating docks of 252m and 227m in length, 15 repair berths with a total length of approximately 5,000m, twin 255m slipways, and a full range of workshops and service centres.-TradeArabia News Service
