Mobile screening clinic to facilitate early detection

As a continuation of YKA’s ongoing efforts during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Yousif & Aysha Almoayyed Foundation has generously provided a Nissan van to the London Breast Care Centre.

The van will function as a fully equipped mobile screening clinic, offering free breast cancer screening services to women across various villages throughout Bahrain to maximise accessability.

The handover ceremony took place at YKA’s head office, attended by board members of the Yousif & Aysha Almoayyed Foundation, including Mashael Almoayyed, Noora Feleyfel and the
foundation’s incharge Ashish Shetty.

Key representatives from the London Breast Cancer Centre, including founder Dr Sara Al Reefy and Dr Ali Sami Al Dwlabi, were also present.

The London Breast Care Centre in Bahrain is a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary medical centre offering a full spectrum of breast care services, from screening and diagnosis to treatment, counselling and follow up care.

“This initiative underscores the foundation’s commitment to improving healthcare accessibility and promoting early detection of breast cancer,” said a charity spokesperson.

“By providing free screening services through the mobile clinic, the foundation aims to support women’s health and raise awareness of breast cancer across the country.”

Speaking on the occasion, Ms Almoayyed said: “We are proud to partner with the London Breast Cancer Centre in such a meaningful initiative. Our foundation is deeply committed to making a difference in the healthcare sector, and this mobile clinic will help reach women in remote areas, ensuring they have access to vital screening services.”

The mobile clinic started its outreach programme this month which will continue until the end of October, visiting multiple locations across Bahrain.

This initiative highlights the importance of early detection in the fight against breast cancer and is part of the foundation’s broader long-term commitment to supporting healthcare services across Bahrain.
