UAE renewable energy capacity surges 63-fold in a decade: Al Olama

The UAE s renewable energy capacity has increased more than 63-fold over the past decade rising from 129 MW in 2015 to more than 8.2 GW in 2025 according to Sharif Al Olama Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure. Speaking to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) Al Olama said the UAE has made significant progress in expanding clean energy strengthening the national electricity network improving grid interconnection and deploying advanced technologies and data systems to enhance grid management and readiness. Acwa, KOWEPO sign MoU to explore renewable energy opportunities in Uzbekistan

Saudi-listed Acwa has signed an MoU with Korea Western Power (KOWEPO) to explore renewable energy opportunities in Uzbekistan. Signed in Tashkent the agreement covers potential cooperation in renewable energy energy storage and related infrastructure projects. The partnership will initially focus on identifying and evaluating renewable energy opportunities in Uzbekistan on a project-by-project basis. The companies will leverage their respective business development expertise and local capabilities to assess potential projects. The MoU was signed in the Uzbek capital in the presence of Acwa Central Asia President Abid Malik and KOWEPO CEO Lee Jung-bok. Indonesia targets EU investment in renewable energy, EVs

Indonesia is positioning renewable energy digital technology agriculture and electric vehicle (EV) downstreaming as key sectors for European Union investment ahead of the planned 2027 implementation of the Indonesia EU Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA). Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the government is preparing to maximise investment opportunities created by the agreement.
