Passenger traffic through Oman's airports witnessed a 0.7 per cent increase up to the end of September 2025, reaching a total of 11,176,189 passengers, compared to 11,097,577 passengers during the same period in 2024, according to preliminary statistics issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
Muscat International Airport received 9,767,193 passengers till the end
of September 2025, an increase of 0.1 percent compared to the same period in
2024.
However, the number of
flights through the same airport decreased by 5 per cent, totalling 69,439
flights compared to 73,095 flights.
Salalah Airport
witnessed remarkable growth in air traffic with passenger numbers increased by
9.3 percent, reaching 1,345,356 passengers.
The number of flights
increased by 5.7 per cent, recording 8,670 flights.
Sohar Airport recorded
a decline in passenger traffic of 71.1 per cent, reaching 18,557 passengers.
The number of flights
also decreased by 61.4 percent, recording 210 flights.
Duqm Airport
maintained balanced performance with passenger numbers increased by 0.7 per cent,
reaching 45,083 passengers.
The number of flights
decreased by 1.3 percent, recording 460 flights.
Statistics also showed
that the Indian nationality topped the list of most frequent travellers
(arrivals and departures) via Muscat International Airport during September
2025, with a total of 158,572 passengers (86,898 arrivals and 71,674
departures).
Omanis came in second with a total of 115,092 passengers (58,491 arrivals and 56,601 departures), followed by the Bangladeshi nationality with a total of 43,052 passengers (21,322 arrivals and 21,730 departures).
