Vatel Bahrain has achieved a significant institutional milestone by receiving a Compliant with National Quality Standards rating from the Education and Training Quality Authority, following a comprehensive institutional review conducted by the Authority in collaboration with the Higher Education Council.
This achievement underscores the college’s
commitment to providing high-quality education in hospitality and hotel
management, implementing best academic and administrative practices and
fostering a sustained culture of quality assurance that ensures institutional
performance remains aligned with nationally approved standards.
Dr Maryam Mustafa, BQA CEO, affirmed that
this accomplishment reflects the significant progress achieved by higher
education institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain, both in embedding academic
quality principles and in fostering a culture of excellence and continuous
enhancement.
Dr Mustafa added that Vatel Bahrain’s
success in meeting such requirements demonstrates its commitment to providing
an integrated learning environment that aligns with students’ aspirations and
the objectives of comprehensive national development, and stated,
"Attaining the ‘Compliant with the General Framework Standards’ rating,
reinforces public confidence in national higher education institutions,
strengthens their ability to produce highly qualified graduates capable of
competing in both local and international labor markets, and contributes to the
development of a pioneering educational ecosystem that keeps pace with global
transformations.”
For her part, Sara Buhiji, Chief Executive
Officer of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, reaffirmed the
Authority’s full support for Vatel Bahrain as one of the Kingdom’s foremost
academic institutions specialising in hospitality, and commended the college
for this accomplishment, noting that it reflects a high level of academic and
applied excellence.
Buhiji further emphasised the pivotal role
played by Vatel Bahrain in equipping the hospitality sector with qualified
national talent capable of competing regionally and internationally in line
with the highest global standards in hospitality and tourism, and also noted
that the college serves as a strategic partner in advancing the Tourism Sector
Strategy 2022 -2026 by preparing graduates who elevate service quality and
enrich the overall visitor experience in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Buhiji added that plans are underway to
expand collaboration with relevant stakeholders to develop academic programmes
and increase the college’s capacity in line with labour market demands and the
continued growth of the tourism and hospitality sector in the Kingdom and
emphasised that these efforts will support the college’s strong position and
leadership at both local and regional levels.

Sheikh Khaled also expressed appreciation
for the dedicated efforts of the Higher Education Council and the Education and
Training Quality Authority, acknowledging their continuous support and
coordination with higher education institutions, which contributes
significantly to enhancing the quality of education in Bahrain and building an
integrated educational system founded on quality, innovation, and
sustainability.
Dr. Diana Al Jahrami, Secretary General of
the Higher Education Council, affirmed that this achievement reflects Vatel
Bahrain’s commitment to academic excellence, continuous development and
innovation in the hospitality field, and noted that this aligns with Bahrain’s
Vision 2030 and with the Council’s efforts to enhance the quality of higher
education and to build a skilled and qualified human capital base capable of
