Ithmaar Bank, a Bahrain-based Islamic retail bank, participated in the National Tree Week in support of the National Action Plan to achieve carbon neutrality.
Employees and members of the management team participated in the initiative by planting a few trees in the surrounding area of Ithmaar Bank’s headquarters at Seef District. Ithmaar Bank Chief Executive Officer Maysan Almaskati, Head of Asset Management Mohamed Ahmed Bucheerei, Head of Legal, Compliance & AML and Corporate Secretary Fatema Mufeez, Senior Manager in the Banking Operations Department Eman Mahmood and Senior Manager in the Corporate Banking Department Amr Alshaher, participated in the event as part of the bank’s commitment to supporting national environmental initiatives.
“Ithmaar Bank participation in the National Tree Week reflects the vital role it must play in supporting environmental initiatives that help preserve the ecosystem and reduce carbon emissions,” said Almaskati. “The initiative, which is aligned with the directives and vision of His Majesty the King, also reflects the Bank’s commitment to achieve its sustainability commitment and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) objectives,” he said.
“Through our participation in the National Tree Week, the Bank focused on planting the close site of its headquarters to ensure enhancing the overall environmental quality and appearance of the surrounding area of the building,” said Almaskati. “This, as we believe, will also have positive impact on our employees, customers and visitors” he said. -TradeArabia News Service
