Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), the world’s largest aluminium smelter on one site, celebrated the graduation of its second batch of employees from the Top-Up Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) programme in Electrical, Electronic and Control System Engineering, delivered in collaboration with the University of Huddersfield, UK.
A ceremony was held today (October 8) at Alba’s Oasis Hall to honour 24 of its employees for their academic achievement, bringing the total number of national graduates from this programme to 48.
The event was attended by Alba’s Chief Executive Officer, Ali Al Baqali, members of the Company’s Executive Management team, as well as senior officials and faculty members from University of Huddersfield, including Pro Vice-Chancellor Research, Innovation and Knowledge Exchange, Prof. Monty Adkins, and Project Manager, Dr. Mosttafa Alghadhi.
Speaking on the occasion, Alba’s CEO Ali Al Baqali said: "At Alba, learning never stops. Every graduate here today proves that investing in our people is investing in Alba’s future. Empowering our national workforce remains at the heart of our mission and our success."
Further, and in line with Alba’s strategic focus on nurturing in-house talent and fostering a culture of continuous learning, Al Baqali announced the launch of the third batch of the Top-Up BEng programme in Mechanical Engineering, commencing this month in collaboration with Huddersfield University.-TradeArabia News Service
