Bahraini-German Friendship Society marks silver jubilee

The Bahraini-German Friendship Society celebrated its 25th anniversary and much-anticipated relaunch with an elegant evening recently held at Al Haddad Motors Mercedes-Benz showroom.

The event, hosted by the German Embassy, brought together founding society members including AbdulJalil AlAnsari, the first Bahraini to receive the German Medal of Merit First Class from the German President, and Al Haddad Group chairman Rasool Al Haddad, alongside dignitaries, members of the German community and media representatives.

The Bahraini-German Friendship Society, originally founded 25 years ago, has played a vital role in strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations. Its anniversary marks a new chapter, spearheaded by Bahraini-German Friendship Society president Deema Al Haddad, along with a dedicated board.

Ms Al Haddad stated: “The organisation aims to expand people-to-people connections, encourage cultural and business exchanges, and create opportunities for collaboration between the two countries.”

The showroom was a fitting venue symbolising German precision, innovation and luxury – qualities that have long been admired in Bahrain. Guests were treated to an exquisite selection of German-inspired cuisine, meticulously prepared by Hilton Bahrain.

The evening commenced with a ceremonial cake-cutting, a symbolic moment celebrating the past 25 years and looking ahead to future societal plans.

“The Bahraini-German Friendship Society looks forward to hosting a series of exciting events in the coming months, and also offering additional opportunities such as German language courses after we receive official approvals,” Ms Al Haddad continued.
