Y K Almoayyed & Sons (YKA) has been recognised by HSBC for excellence in sustainability, as part of the HSBC Sustainable Business Accelerator 2024 programme.
This programme is delivered by Diginex and is designed to help companies start their environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting journey, identifying business-relevant key performance indicators (KPIs), and calculating their greenhouse gases (GHG) footprint. This accolade underscores the company’s commitment to integrate measurable ESG strategies across its operations.
Currently, YKA has achieved 43 per cent of its energy needs through renewable sources, with a solar output of 3.74 million kWh annually. Moving forward, the company aims to achieve 100 pc net-zero energy consumption in the coming months.
Representing YKA, corporate purchase group manager K L Srinivasu received the honour from HSBC regional head of sustainability for commercial banking MENAT at HSBC, Jennifer Chammas, in the presence of Diginex chief executive Mark Blick, and Diginex chief corporate affairs officer and ESG head Jessica Camus-Demarche, and other distinguished officials.

This honour highlights the company’s ongoing efforts to set benchmarks for corporate responsibility and sustainability in Bahrain and beyond,” stated a YKA spokesperson.
