THE first Mercedes-Benz Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station in the kingdom has been installed at the InterContinental Regency Bahrain, in co-operation with Al Haddad Motors.
This strategic partnership brings sustainable and convenient charging options to EV owners right in the heart of Manama.
The charging station boasts high-power capabilities, allowing for rapid charging.
Depending on the model, it supports up to 350kW of charging power, significantly reducing waiting time.
“This is yet another achievement which is line with Bahrain’s contribution to a greener future,” said Al Haddad Motors marketing manager Imran Ali.
“The new Mercedes-Benz Electric Vehicle station will help travellers, locals and guests at the hotel.
“Al Haddad Motors is proud of this partnership with InterContinental Regency Bahrain which will open new doors of co-operation.”
Guests can charge their EVs while enjoying the hotel’s amenities, whether it’s a business meeting, a relaxing spa session or a gourmet meal.
The installation also aligns with the hotel’s ‘Journey to Tomorrow’ initiative, emphasising sustainable infrastructure and environmental responsibility.
“We celebrate this milestone as Bahrain’s first luxury hotel to offer a Mercedes EV charging station,” said hotel manager Mohammed Sanad.
“Our collaboration with Mercedes-Benz underscores our commitment to innovation and sustainability.”
In 2021, Bahrain inaugurated its first public EV charging station, a significant milestone in the country’s commitment to sustainable transportation.
The Transportation and Telecommunications Ministry has also introduced emissions-free electric scooters and bikes across the capital city of Manama, further enriching the country’s EV landscape.
