Alba to acquire France's Aluminium Dunkerque in $2.2bn deal

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) has agreed to acquire Aluminium Dunkerque the largest aluminium smelter in the European Union in a deal worth 2.2 billion a report in the Gulf Daily News said. The deal was signed in the presence of Finance and National Economy Minister and Mumtalakat chairman Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa on the sidelines of the Choose France Summit which was opened by French President Emmanuel Macron at the Palace of Versailles in Paris. Shaikh Salman also attended a dinner hosted by President Macron for summit participants. Trafigura eyes $900m aluminium smelter in Egypt

Multinational commodities trader Trafigura together with the Egyptian Aluminium Company and Metallurgical Industries Holding Company has entered exclusive negotiations to co-finance and develop a major new aluminium complex in Egypt. This marks one of the country s most significant downstream metals investments to date. The proposed project valued between 750 million and 900 million includes a 300 000-ton-per-annum aluminium smelter and a 150 000-ton-per-annum anode plant. EGA to buy majority stake in Italian aluminium recycling firm

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) the largest industrial company in the UAE outside oil and gas and the world s biggest producer of premium aluminium today (April 21) announced its intention to acquire an 80% stake in Italian aluminium recycling company Eco Green. US President Donald Trump has decided to adjust the tariffs imposed on imports of steel aluminium and copper to reduce duties on derivatives made from these metals simplify compliance procedures and prevent manipulation of import values. The White House stated in a briefing Thursday that under the proclamation signed by the President the United States will maintain a 50% import duty on steel aluminium and copper imports under Section 232 of the Trade Act of 1974. EGA to boost German aluminium recycling capacity over six-fold

Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) a leader in global aluminium production as well as one of the largest companies in the UAE has announced a significant expansion of its key facility in Germany - EGA Leichtmetall. The new facility located near Hannover will help boost EGA Leichtmetall s recycling capacity more than six-fold adding 110 000 tonnes per year of scrap sorting capacity and 153 000 tonnes per year of melting and casting capacity.
