Batelco ‘Nasna’ Supports Tree of Life Charity Through “Back to School” Initiative

In line with its continuous efforts to contribute to initiatives that support the community and with the collaboration of the Tree of Life Social Charity Society Batelco hosted a Back to School internal initiative under its CSR programme Nasna . The initiative developed from Batelco s belief in the importance of education and equipping all students for a new school year. During the charity drive Batelco staff donated school supplies including bags lunch boxes and stationery. The Nasna team visited the Tree of Life Charity s premises to deliver the donated items to be distributed to orphans and families in need in order to help them have a joyful start to the school term and ensure that they are fully prepared for the academic year ahead. The Tree of Life Social Charity Society was established in 2012 in the Kingdom of Bahrain with the aim of providing services to various segments of the Bahraini society. They support orphans and families in need by offering education and health care to those who can t afford it and additionally offer a range of social activities. The charity s main purpose is to serve and help the community with everything they can which reflects Islamic principles and nationalism. Batelco is keen to support various Bahraini charities through initiatives organised by the Company s social responsibility team Nasna with a number of initiatives helping to alleviate the financial burden of the families in need. Batelco encourages volunteer work amongst its employees with a growing number of staff joining in its worthwhile efforts.

Batelco Nasna Team Encourages Staff to Recycle

The new initiative which will be ongoing forms part of a series of initiatives launched by Batelco in order to spread awareness and educate its employees on matters concerning the environment. As part of the initiative recycling bins have been distributed throughout the Batelco Hamala Campus to encourage employees to dispose of their plastic waste responsibly. Recycled items will be collected on a weekly basis by NIDUKKI the waste management cleaning and recycling service provider with over 30 years of experience in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Batelco Nasna strives to support environmental initiatives that contribute towards maintaining sustainability and to embark on this latest drive the Company recently launched an environmental awareness programme with a lecture held for its employees about the harmful effects of plastic on the environment particularly on our seas and oceans. Batelco s programme has been introduced in support of the global environmental awareness trends and the national initiative launched by the Supreme Council for the Environment to reduce the use of single-use plastic products across Bahrain.

The package was designed to provide customers with greater flexibility and control of their mobile usage. Subscribers to the Mazeej package will be able to enjoy 8GB of data as well as 500 minutes across all local operators. Batelco Launches New Roaming Package on the Occasion of Hajj Season

The package will provide pilgrims with both data and minutes making it easier for them to stay in touch with their loved ones in the Kingdom of Bahrain while carrying out their holy duties without the need to change their SIM card. As part of the package customers will be able to enjoy 15GB of data alongside 200 calling minutes for both Bahrain and KSA and for receiving calls from KSA. To subscribe Batelco users can dial 973# and select the Hajj package from the drop down menu. The BD15 package is available for both Batelco Postpaid and Prepaid users and will be valid for 14 days from the date of activation. Batelco Announces over 50 ‘Duel Game’ Winners

Batelco launched the exciting and educational Fact of the Day service for its customers back in May. The service provides customers with daily messages including various facts and information across a number of categories such as entertainment sports Bahrain s history and science. To add fun and excitement to this service subscribers can opt to join the Duel Game an online game in which two players compete on a set of questions based on the information they receive from the Fact of the Day service. Subscribers will be able to enjoy the Fact of the Day service for free on the first 7 days of subscription however a fee will apply thereafter. Scoring depends on the number of correct answers during the various rounds of the Duel Game where the top scorer of every day week and month is identified by the system and the winners are announced on the game s website. At the end of the competition a cash prize of more than BD5 000 will be presented to the user who accumulates the most points over the course of the game. A reception was held at Batelco on Sunday 4 th August when members of Batelco s management met a number of winners and congratulated them on their triumph encouraging them to continue playing in order to increase their chances of winning the big prize. Cash prizes will be transferred to the winners bank accounts.
