Qatar Airways and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) producer Gevo have signed an offtake agreement where the airline will purchase 25 million US gallons of neat SAF over the course of five years. Deliveries are expected to commence in 2028 at various airports in California. Qatar Airways first daily regularly-scheduled Airbus A350 service to London Heathrow arrived in the UK on October 30 as the airline introduced the state-of-the-art aircraft on the route. Qatar Airways and British Airways parent company International Airlines Group (IAG) has announced a joint business agreement that will benefit customers by offering a wider choice of flights an enhanced network greater choice of fares and superior benefits for members of their frequent flyer programmes. The joint business will see the two airlines code-sharing on all non-stop flights between the UK and Doha to offer customers a combined route network that will serve more than 70 destinations. Qatar Airways has announced an increase in services to Dammam and Riyadh connecting travellers from Saudi Arabia to more than 150 worldwide destinations through the Hamad International Airport in Doha. Qatar Airways CEO HE Akbar Al Baker revealed details of its first A380 at Arabian Travel Market the first of 13 aircraft on order that will be delivered on May 31. Introducing the new A380 first class seat for the first time Al Baker said it would be more than 2.2 metres in length and the widest in the industry convertible in to a fully flat bed and with a 26-inch television screen a privacy screen increased personal storage as well as a facility for two passengers to sit across from each other when dining.
