stc Bahrain, a digital enabler, has selected Telenor Linx as its Firebase Phone Number Verification provider, becoming the first mobile operator in the Middle East to deploy the advanced verification service, the company said.

The strategic agreement was announced during Capacity Europe 2026, further solidifying stc Bahrain's leadership in advancing the region's digital ecosystem through secure, next-generation mobile identity solutions.

This first-to-market deployment forms a core component of stc Bahrain's broader strategy to build a future-ready digital infrastructure for the Kingdom and the wider region, it said.

By integrating Firebase Phone Number Verification via Telenor Linx, stc Bahrain enables app developers, fintechs, e-commerce platforms, and digital enterprises to move beyond traditional, manual SMS one-time passcodes (OTPs) toward seamless, SIM-based network authentication.

The silent, one-tap verification technology significantly reduces onboarding friction, eliminates login delays, and combats identity fraud and SMS interception. This capability provides stc Bahrain’s corporate clients and digital partners with higher user retention rates, enhanced operational security, and superior digital experiences at scale, it said.

"At stc Bahrain, we are committed to investing in the latest technology to build a secure and frictionless digital ecosystem for our subscribers and business partners," said Hesham Mustafa, Chief Business & Wholesale Officer at stc Bahrain. "Becoming the first operator in the Middle East to launch Firebase Phone Number Verification with Telenor Linx aligns directly with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s digital vision to drive innovation and elevate the digital economy. This milestone reinforces our position as a regional technology leader while delivering seamless, next-generation verification across digital platforms." – TradeArabia News Service
