Saudi-based Refad Real Estate Investment and Development Company has announced that work is moving at a steady pace on its mixed-use project, Miraf District, coming up on a 42,000 sq m area in Al Khobar in the kingdom's Eastern Province.
Designed by global architecture leader Gensler, Miraf District will be developed on a 42,000-sq-m site and will consist of four main components: MirafResidences, two residential towers offering 152 units and lifestyle facilities with direct access to a plaza; the Business Tower, an 18-storey office building with panoramic views and over 20,000 sq m of leasable space; The Plaza, a vibrant retail and entertainment hub featuring restaurants, cafés, clinics, and recreational spaces; and Hotel Indigo, managed by IHG Hotels and Resorts, providing 240 hotel units that blend local character with international standards.
It will boast a built-up area of 200,000 sq m, including up to 29,000 sq m of leasable commercial space and over 20,000 sq m of office space, the Miraf District project features a mix of residential, commercial, leisure, and hospitality amenities within a comprehensive destination.
It comprises a total of 152 residential units, a 240-key hotel as well as more than 1,200 fully shaded parking spaces.

Strategically located in the Corniche district of Khobar, near Downtown Khobar and just minutes from the Corniche, the project is at the heart of one of the city's most vibrant areas, ensuring a seamless urban experience that meets the aspirations of residents, visitors, and entrepreneurs, said the developer.
With construction phases proceeding as per schedule, the project is on track for handover in 2029.
Miraf District is part of Refad Real Estate’s vision to develop high-quality projects that enhance the quality of life and enrich the urban landscape in the Eastern Province.
This is achieved by offering integrated destinations that combine modern design, prime locations, and diverse services, in line with the Kingdom's urban development and quality-of-life objectives, it stated.
"The project brings together a diverse range of components designed to provide an integrated environment, including the Hotel Indigo, Miraf Business Tower, The Plaza, and Miraf Residences, along with numerous facilities and services, such as open outdoor spaces, an outdoor swimming pool, a gym, restaurants and cafes, shopping malls, a supermarket, specialized clinics, and cinemas," said a company spokesman.
Notably, the project recently completed 100% of the piling and support work, while foundation work has commenced in preparation for the next construction phases. This reflects the efficiency of execution and the accelerated pace of the project's progress, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
