Wyndham accelerates EMEA expansion with 25 hotel signings in H1 2026

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is accelerating its strategic expansion across Europe, the Middle East, Eurasia and Africa (EMEA), driven by rising demand for experience-led travel, emerging destinations and globally recognised hotel brands.

During the first half of 2026, Wyndham EMEA signed 25 hotels and opened 13 properties across the region, strengthening its presence in some of the world’s fastest-growing travel markets.

The company now operates more than 750 hotels across EMEA, representing over 99,000 rooms and reinforcing the region’s importance as a key growth driver.

Expansion momentum was supported by strong performance in TĂĽrkiye, rapid development in India and increasing opportunities across the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS).

Dimitris Manikis, President EMEA, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, said: “EMEA remains one of the most dynamic regions in global hospitality. What we're seeing today is growth coming from a broader range of markets and segments than ever before, from established destinations such as Türkiye to fast-growing markets across India, and Central Asia.

Travellers are increasingly seeking new destinations and richer local experiences, while demand for Europe's traditional tourism powerhouses remains strong. Rather than shifting, the travel map is expanding, with guests increasingly combining established destinations with secondary cities and emerging markets that offer authenticity and a stronger connection to local culture. While owners are looking for partners that can help them capture demand and navigate a rapidly evolving marketplace. That combination is creating opportunities across the region, whether it's hotels in emerging tourism destinations, expansion into secondary cities or growing interest in branded residences.

The momentum we've seen in the first half of the year reflects the strength of those underlying market fundamentals. It also reinforces our belief that some of the most exciting growth opportunities in hospitality over the coming years will come from markets that, until recently, were considered outside the traditional development spotlight.”

Türkiye remained Wyndham’s most active development market during the period, accounting for the majority of openings across EMEA.

The company expanded across business hubs, resort destinations and regional markets, with new openings including TRYP by Wyndham Istanbul Maltepe, Ramada by Wyndham Erzincan Ergan, Ramada by Wyndham Düzce, Wyndham Garden Antalya Konyaaltı and Türkiye’s first Ramada Residences by Wyndham Istanbul Haramidere.

Across Europe and the CIS, Wyndham continued growing in both established leisure markets and emerging tourism destinations.

New openings included Wyndham Grand Carvoeiro Algarve in Portugal, Wyndham Mallorca Portocolom Resort in Spain and Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Tashkent in Uzbekistan.

Additional signings in the region included projects in Uzbekistan, Albania and Serbia, supporting expansion across resort, urban, lifestyle and mixed-use developments.

India remained one of Wyndham’s fastest-growing markets globally, supported by expanding domestic travel, a growing middle class and strong tourism demand.

During the first half of 2026, Wyndham opened Ramada Encore by Wyndham Ayodhya and Ramada by Wyndham Itahari Pashupati Marg in Nepal, while signing 11 new hotels across India, including projects in Vrindavan, Jaipur and Khajuraho.

In the Middle East, Wyndham continued to invest despite a challenging geopolitical environment, prioritising the safety and wellbeing of guests, associates, franchisees and partners.

The company operates 80 hotels with 12,885 rooms across the Middle East and Pakistan and signed five new projects in the UAE and Saudi Arabia during the period.

A major milestone was the partnership with Grovy Developers to launch Ramada Residences by Wyndham at Dubai Islands, expanding Wyndham’s presence in the branded residences sector.

Supporting its growth strategy is The Wyndham Advantage, the company’s integrated platform providing owners with marketing, technology, distribution and operational support.

Through digital tools, AI-powered guest engagement, revenue management solutions and access to more than 126 million Wyndham Rewards members globally, Wyndham continues helping owners enhance performance and long-term growth. -TradeArabia News Service
