Oman's Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) has announced that its Ibri Industrial City has attracted investments worth about RO25 million ($65 million) during the first half signing 17 investment agreements across key sectors as the industrial hub seeks to support economic diversification under Oman Vision 2040.
Ibri Industrial City provides an integrated investment environment that supports industrial development in Al Dhahirah Governorate in particular and the sultanate in general.
The governorate enjoys competitive advantages, particularly in marble and chrome related industries, while the presence of Ibri Industrial City creates ideal conditions for investments across the industrial, commercial, and service sectors.
Ibri Industrial City spans a total area of 10 million sqm, of which more than 2.6 million sqm has already been developed.
Located near the Saudi and UAE borders, the industrial hub is positioned along key regional trade routes and aims to support industrial, commercial and service-sector investments, particularly in marble- and chrome-related industries.
Announcing this, Director General Salah bin Nasser Al Alawi said: "Madayn is continuing efforts to strengthen Ibri's investment environment by attracting quality projects and working with government entities to unlock the economic potential of Al Dhahirah Governorate."
"As part of those efforts, Madayn has launched 11 investment opportunities in food manufacturing and organic fertiliser production through the Tharawat platform in cooperation with the Directorate General of Agriculture and Water Resources in Al Dhahirah. The projects have also been listed on the Tatweer platform in partnership with the Directorate General of Housing and Urban Planning to attract investors, promote value-added industries and create jobs," he stated.
Under Oman's 11th Five-Year Development Plan (2026-2030), Madayn plans to implement several infrastructure projects at Ibri Industrial City, including the construction of a security fence, an administration building, a Madayn Entrepreneurial Complex in cooperation with the SMEs Development Authority, protection works for the service area and an expansion of green spaces.
