Emirates has surpassed one million Starlink Wi-Fi connections just seven months after introducing the service across its fleet, marking a significant step in inflight connectivity.
Customers have already used more than one petabyte of data,
with many praising the service as comparable to home internet.
The airline now operates over 60 Starlink-enabled flights
daily, allowing passengers to stream content, join video calls, game online and
stay connected throughout their journey.
The rollout currently covers 33 Boeing 777s and three Airbus
A380s, with installations continuing across the fleet.
The A380 system uses
three antennas to support its high capacity and double-deck structure,
delivering strong coverage across all cabins.
Starlink enables speeds exceeding 2 Gbps, supporting
high-bandwidth activities such as live streaming at 40,000 feet.
Emirates is installing the system at its Dubai engineering
facilities to accelerate deployment.
Future upgrades include Live TV integration into the
airline’s ice entertainment system. The initiative is part of a wider fleet
modernisation programme enhancing comfort, entertainment and connectivity. -TradeArabia News Service
