Deep-tech developed by the Technology Innovation Institute (TII), the UAE’s applied research and development (R&D) backbone, has spun-out new generation AI operational capabilities through three AI startups, which are being showcased on the international stage at Eurosatory Paris this week.
TII-developed technologies power TACTICAAI, SIRBAI and CENTAURE.AI as they enter the defence and security ecosystem, addressing decision intelligence, security operations and coordinated autonomy.
As modern warfare becomes more complex and time-sensitive, the startups’ capabilities are designed to turn fragmented intelligence, sensor and operational data into real-time decision support across defence theatres. Together, they support mission planning, intelligence interpretation, security operations and coordinated autonomous systems, including swarm-enabled capabilities that can operate at scale, accelerate mission execution and reduce operator workload, while keeping humans in the loop for critical decision-making.
The debut comes as the UAE continues to deepen its strategic partnership with France in artificial intelligence, following a 2025 framework for cooperation spanning AI infrastructure, research and talent. It also comes amid growing UAE–France defence and technology ties, including EDGE Group’s European expansion through a Paris office.
The startups are part of a growing pipeline of UAE deep-tech capabilities that support EDGE’s wider defence and security ecosystem, while also addressing broader defence, security and critical-sector needs globally — advancing the UAE’s push to build sovereign AI capabilities with international relevance.
The AI solutions bring together GEOINT, or geospatial intelligence, which uses satellite imagery, radar, maps, and location-based data to understand what is happening on the ground; and OSINT, or open-source intelligence, which draws on publicly available information to provide wider context. It also integrates data from video feeds, sensors, IoT systems and historical records to create a unified operational picture across teams, domains and data sources. Through agentic AI orchestration, platforms such as TACTICAAI can help define the mission objective and determine what needs to be achieved, shifting the operating model from simply showing data to helping decision-makers understand what to do next. This bridges the gap between analysis, decision and execution, while keeping human oversight at the centre of critical decisions.
“The UAE and France share a belief that the next era of AI must be sovereign, responsible and built on trusted scientific foundations,” said Dr. Najwa Aaraj, CEO of TII. “At Eurosatory, we are showing how deep science can move from the lab into mission-critical environments, where AI can interpret complexity, connect fragmented data and support faster decisions across defence, security and critical infrastructure. These systems are designed to recommend and coordinate, while keeping human judgement at the centre. As our research and innovation partnership with France continues to deepen, these capabilities reflect a shared commitment to building AI that is operationally relevant, internationally collaborative and responsibly deployed.” -TradeArabia News Service
