Shangri-La unveils wellness-led summer travel experience

CONSUMER NEWS

Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts has launched its global summer campaign, “Summer In Motion,” running from May 11 to August 31, redefining luxury travel through a balance of wellness, exploration, and indulgence.

The initiative reflects growing demand for dynamic travel experiences, particularly the rise of sports tourism, which now accounts for around 10% of global tourism, with nearly half of sports fans travelling internationally for live events.

The campaign spans Shangri-La properties across the Middle East, Europe, Canada, India, Sri Lanka, and Mauritius, offering curated experiences that combine movement, restoration, and celebration.

Guests booking selected stays of three or four nights receive a complimentary night at participating hotels.

Inspired by major global sporting destinations—from football in Toronto to tennis in London, Paris, and Abu Dhabi, cycling in France, and golf in Mauritius and Sri Lanka—the programme integrates wellness, sport, and cultural discovery into each stay.

Middle East properties include Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi and Shangri-La Dubai, offering spa-led retreats, wellness rituals, dining credits, fitness sessions, and stay extensions with added benefits.

At Shangri-La Paris, guests receive wellness perks at Chi, The Spa, running kits for city jogging routes past landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and Seine, and new dining venues including Les Salons du Prince and Maison Roland.

At Shangri-La The Shard, London, the offer includes a “stay 4 pay 3” package with access to Western Europe’s highest infinity pool, Sky Sauna, Thames-side running routes, yoga, and wellness treatments overlooking the city skyline.

Shangri-La Bosphorus, Istanbul features Turkish hammam rituals, personalised spa journeys, tea ceremonies, and curated movement experiences across the city, alongside cultural and sporting event access.

In North America, Shangri-La Toronto offers wellness-focused stays including ice bath therapy, yoga, afternoon tea, and immersive dining concepts such as Fuel & Flow and Wellness Brunch.

In the Indian Ocean, Shangri-La Le Touessrok, Mauritius combines beachside wellness with golf, water sports, spa treatments, and family-friendly experiences, including complimentary stays for young children.

In Asia, properties such as Shangri-La Eros New Delhi, Shangri-La Bangalore, Shangri-La Colombo, and Shangri-La Hambantota offer wellness retreats, yoga, Ayurvedic therapies, golf, outdoor adventures, and stay extensions designed around movement and restoration. -TradeArabia News Service
