Dubai has announced a three-month deferral on collecting hotel sales fees and the Tourism Dirham, starting April 1, 2026 as part of its AED1 billion ($272 million) economic package for businesses and individuals.
"The set of incentives includes the deferral of a range of government fees for three months including measures allowing hotels to postpone paying 100% of the sales fees and Tourism Dirham for three months to enhance liquidity in the hospitality and tourism sectors," said a post in Dubai Media Office X account.
HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, announced the initiative at a Council meeting on Monday.
The announcement said: "Customs data grace periods will be extended from 30 to 90 days with the possibility of further extension and full compliance with the applicable tax legislation.
"The initiative will also streamline the issuing and renewing of residency permits, making it easier for talent to live and work in Dubai," it said.
