NFPA to advance fire and life safety dialogue at Intersec Dubai

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)  has announced its participation at Intersec Dubai, the world’s leading event dedicated to the future of security, safety, and fire protection, next month. 

Scheduled for January 12–14, 2026, at the Dubai World Trade Center, the 2026 edition will be held under the patronage of Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Border Security Council. 

The event will bring together global and regional industry leaders to explore emerging challenges and opportunities fueled by the Gulf’s rapid infrastructure growth and development.

NFPA’s participation at Intersec Dubai 2026 will feature the highly anticipated NFPA Day, hosted on Day 2 of the Fire & Rescue Conference. This dedicated program will bring together senior government officials, private-sector leaders, and industry experts for strategic panel discussions and expert-led sessions. Topics will include the impact of artificial intelligence, mega-projects, and the energy transition - delivering timely insights that will shape the next generation of fire and life safety practices across the region.

NFPA Day will open with remarks from Mike Brunzell, Vice President of Global Business Development, followed by a keynote address from Jim Pauley, NFPA President & CEO, which will include a major announcement on NFPA LiNK, NFPA’s digital platform for its 300+ codes and standards. Pauley will then join Olga Caledonia, director of Global Business Development, for an engaging fireside chat on NFPA’s global leadership and international influence.

The agenda also features impactful sessions, including a presentation by NFPA Vice President for Outreach & Advocacy Lorraine Carli on “Facing the Global Challenge of Energy Transition,” and a panel titled “Transforming Vision into Action,” moderated by Dana Kamal, NFPA’s MENA director of International Business Development. Other highlights include a session on “Modernizing Fire Protection with AI,” featuring Ibrahim Lari (SIBCA) and Richard Pearson (Omniconn), showcasing AI-driven tools for inspections and alarms aligned with NFPA standards, and a panel discussion on leveraging NFPA codes and standards to manage high-hazard safety situations, moderated by Zahi Daher, NFPA international business development manager for Saudi Arabia

Mega-project safety will be addressed in “Building the Future,” moderated by Sawsan Dahham from SIENA with experts from Saudi Aramco and Red Sea Global. Additional sessions include navigating UAE construction standards and a high-hazard safety panel leveraging NFPA codes to protect people and assets. - TradeArabia News Service
