Kobe Tourism Bureau (KTB), supported by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) Dubai Office, hosted a luncheon for leading media and content creators at TOMO Dubai to showcase Kobe’s distinctive tourism appeal.
The event highlighted the city’s signature experiences, including world-renowned Kobe Beef, the historic Arima Onsen hot springs, and its multicultural heritage represented by landmarks such as the Kobe Mosque. Guests were introduced to Kobe as a destination offering culture, comfort, and authentic Japanese experiences.
Strategically located in Japan’s Kansai region, Kobe lies just 30 minutes from Osaka and 50–60 minutes from Kyoto, with convenient access from Kansai International Airport via train, bus, or a high-speed ferry. This connectivity positions Kobe as an ideal base for multi-city travel across western Japan.
As one of Japan’s earliest international ports, Kobe developed a unique multicultural character that remains visible today. The Kitano Ijinkan district preserves Western-style residences from the late 19th century, while the Kobe Mosque—Japan’s oldest mosque, built in 1935—stands as a symbol of religious diversity. Ikuta Shrine further enriches the city’s spiritual heritage.
KTB also highlighted central Kobe’s waterfront attractions, including Sorakuen Garden, the Former Hassam Residence, the átoa Kobe aquarium, and harbour cruises. Future development includes the GLION ARENA KOBE, opening in 2027. Nearby attractions include Arima Onsen to the north and Mount Rokko to the east, offering panoramic views and seasonal activities.
Kobe’s culinary scene reflects its international roots, with a strong focus on Kobe Beef and Muslim-friendly dining options. The city will also host Kobe Luminarie from 30 January to 8 February 2026, a renowned winter illumination event symbolizing resilience and hope.
“We were delighted to introduce Kobe directly to the media and content creators here in Dubai,” said Yasunao Shuo, Managing Director of Kobe Tourism Bureau. “Kobe is a compact yet diverse city where visitors can enjoy a multicultural atmosphere, Muslim-friendly hospitality, hot springs, mountains, and the sea—all within easy reach. We hope more travellers from the GCC will discover Kobe as a comfortable and inspiring base for exploring Japan.” -TradeArabia News Service
