Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), a world-leading aluminium smelter and one of Bahrain’s leading industrial employers of women, marked Bahraini Women’s Day with a special ceremony today (December 4) at its Oasis Hall to celebrate the contributions of its female workforce.
The event was attended by Alba Board Directors Rasha Sabkar and Hala Mufeez, and Supreme Council for Women’s Director of Services and Resources Shaima Al Mahmood, in addition to Alba’s CEO Ali Al Baqali and members of the Executive Management team.
A key highlight of the event was a panel discussion titled ‘Stories of Inspiring Youth in Alba’, where female employees shared their perspectives on expanding their role in the company’s success.
Speaking on the occasion, Alba’s CEO Ali Al Baqali said: "Bahraini Women’s Day is not only a celebration of the remarkable achievements of Bahraini women, but also a call to create more pathways for their growth and success."
"At Alba, we see women as a driving force behind our progress. Today, 45% of our female workforce hold supervisory or higher-level positions -- a testament to our commitment to gender diversity in leadership," she stated.
The event also showcased several women-led CSR initiatives by Alba Ladies earlier this year, underscoring their leadership and active role in strengthening Alba’s commitment to community and sustainability.
These initiatives included hospital visits to engage with disadvantaged children, tree-planting activities beyond company borders, and public beaches’ clean-up drives.-TradeArabia News Service
