OIL AND GAS NEWS

OAK Energy & Infrastructure  (OAK) announced a major milestone in Bahrain’s clean energy transition with the development of a photovoltaic (PV) solar project that will supply renewable power to four sites, including Al Dana Amphitheatre, Bahrain International Circuit, and Exhibition World Bahrain.

Backed by international partners and the UK Export Finance (UKEF), the projects represent inward investment of approximately $50 million and are expected to generate over 150 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of clean energy annually.

This initiative contributes to Bahrain's shift toward sustainable energy sources and was announced during Gateway Gulf 2025, the region’s investment forum.

“OAK is proud to introduce our diverse portfolio of solar systems to the Kingdom of Bahrain, which combines world-class engineering and long-term energy security to key tourism destinations and strategic facilities” said Gareth Brown, Group CEO, OAK Energy & Infrastructure.

“With final designs approved, we are now moving decisively to signing and execution — ensuring bankability through long-duration PPAs and delivering resilient, competitively priced clean power to Bahrain’s most prominent facilities.”

Ali Al Mudaifa, Chief of Business Development at Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB), added: “The announcement of OAK’s solar portfolio at Gateway Gulf 2025 highlights Bahrain’s ability to attract innovative, sustainable investment. These projects reflect the Kingdom’s commitment to advancing renewable energy while creating tangible opportunities for collaboration between local and international partners.” -OGN/TradeArabia News Service
