Youth City 2030 is a pioneering national initiative designed to empower Bahraini youth and develop their skills, preparing them to represent the Kingdom with distinction on the global stage, highlighted Fatima Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism and Chairperson of the Bahrain Exhibition and Tourism Authority (BTEA).

Minister Al Sairafi emphasised that previous editions of the initiative had equipped the labour market with qualified Bahraini professionals across the tourism, events, and management sectors, reported BNA.

During a tour of the specialised programmes featured in the current edition, the Minister observed several programmes that directly support the strategic objectives of Bahrain's tourism sector and strengthen the Kingdom's status regionally and internationally.

Notable programmes include those focused on organising business tourism events, a key pillar of the Tourism Strategy 2022–2026, and "Sustainable Tourism Through the Eyes of Youth", which engages young talent in promoting Bahrain’s tourism assets in innovative ways.

Minister Al Sairafi emphasised that these programmes align with the tourism sector's strategic goals while directly enhancing participants' professional capabilities and equipping them with market-ready skills that meet current industry demands.

She commended the exceptional quality of planning and execution demonstrated across all Youth City programmes, noting their strong alignment with efforts to realise Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030 and advance the Kingdom's transformation toward an innovation-driven, knowledge-based economy.

She noted that investing in young Bahraini talent remains crucial for the tourism sector’s sustainable growth.

Skilled Bahraini professionals play a role in enriching the visitor experience and showcasing Bahrain’s identity while reinforcing the Kingdom's position as a premier tourist destination and preferred host for major international events.
