Tamkeen plans to train 50,000 Bahrainis in AI by 2030

Bahrain's Labour Fund (Tamkeen) has launched a first-of-its-kind bundle to train 50,000 Bahrainis in Artificial Intelligence by 2030.
According to Tamkeen, this initiative reflects the importance of investing in Bahraini talent to equip them with highly in demand skills and provide them with training and development opportunities that can facilitate their success through programs and initiatives designed to upskill national talent and enhance their competitiveness, making them the employees of choice in the labor market.
The Tamkeen move comes following the directives from its Chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The initiative include three main tracks to provide AI training. The first track, aimed at leaders and executives, is designed to shift the mindset of executives in Bahrain towards proactive AI adoption enabling them to utilize AI applications effectively in their organizations, said Tamkeen in its statement.
The second track aims to provide general AI training to Bahrainis to equip them with the knowledge required to utilise AI tools effectively for automation, data analytics and to boost productivity, while the third track is aimed at AI specialists to train them to build AI tools.
Tamkeen said this initiative aligns with its strategic priorities for 2025, which focus on enhancing the position and competitiveness of Bahrainis in the private sector and equipping them with suitable skills for career development in the private sector.
The main aim is to prioritise enterprise growth, digitisation and sustainability and supporting the development of the ecosystem surrounding the labour market and private sector, it stated.
Tamkeen has partnered with several leading local and international training providers to offer these programmes.-TradeArabia News Service
