China-Arab Entrepreneurs Summit 2024 kicks off in Abu Dhabi

The 2024 China-Arab Entrepreneurs Summit started on May 15 in Abu Dhabi, bringing together over 200 delegates from the business sectors of China and Arab countries, a report said.

The summit, which is jointly organised by the Sino International Entrepreneurs Federation (SIEF) and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry, focuses on green innovation, energy security, technological innovation, financial investment, digital transformation in the education sector, and other sectors, Emirates News Agency, WAM said.

Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, Zhang Yiming, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the UAE, and Long Yongtu, Co-Chairman of SIEF, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony.

“The UAE and China share a common vision to support entrepreneurship as a key driver of sustainable economic growth. The UAE believes that entrepreneurship and start-ups are the keys to economic growth and prosperity,” Al Zeyoudi said in his speech, adding that the UAE is committed to creating a conducive environment where entrepreneurs can thrive.

The speakers stressed the strength and solidity of China-Arab relations, noting the large volume of trade between the two sides and the promising opportunities for strengthening cooperation in various fields.

The summit activities included panel discussions, presentations of diverse cooperation projects, and the signing of strategic cooperation agreements between Emirati and Chinese companies.

One of the highlights of the summit was the launch of the "China-Arab Financing and Investment Report 2023," which sheds light on the investment opportunities available in the region.

The summit will continue for five days with the participation of a select group of businessmen and officials from both sides, followed by a series of events in Dubai and Riyadh.
