ALBA, the world’s largest single-site smelter, has appointed Mohammed Al Awadhi as manager of sales for the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region, with effect from February 19.
Mr Al Awadhi joined Alba in 2010 as a sales support officer for Asia and has held progressively senior roles, including head of sales for the MEA region in 2015 and senior head of sales for MEA in 2020.
He has played a key role in driving sales growth, particularly for value-added products, by building strong customer relationships and expanding the company’s regional footprint, Alba said.
“Mohammed’s career journey within Alba reflects our commitment to nurturing Bahraini talent,” said Alba chief executive Ali Al Baqali. “His dedication and hard work have earned him this opportunity. We’re confident in his ability to lead our sales team to even greater performance.”
Mr Al Awadhi holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Griffith University, Queensland, Australia, and an MBA from the University of Strathclyde, Bahrain.
