Tamkeen kicks off leadership skills programme for Bahrainis

The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) announced the commencement of the first cohort of the leadership skills programme offered in partnership with Harvard Business Corporate Learning and EMIC Training, a Bahrain-based professional and academic training institute under the ELM Education Fund, part of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company, and Harvard Business Corporate Learning.

The programme comes as part of the Executive Leadership Training Initiative launched by Isa Bin Salman Education Charitable Trust board of trustees chairman and Labour Fund (Tamkeen) board of directors chairman Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa to provide high-quality opportunities for Bahraini talent.

The programme provides training opportunities for 200 Bahrainis through two tracks designed for leaders currently employed in the private sector at mid-level and executive levels, with each track tailored to meet the specific needs of its participants.

The first cohort includes 100 Bahraini participants from various economic sectors and backgrounds such as entrepreneurs, executives and leaders from enterprises of different sizes. The participants were selected following a highly competitive and rigorous assessment process. Joining the track for mid-level managers, 50 of the participants will attend a training programme focused on equipping them with essential management and influence skills, such as effective communication, strategies for motivating and developing their employees, and productivity-enhancing management techniques.

Another 50 participants will join the track for executive-level managers which is focused on the top ten leadership competencies aligned with the kingdom’s vision, including communication and influence, resilience and agility in responding to challenges, leveraging digital transformation, and more.

The programme aligns with Tamkeen’s strategic priorities for 2025, which focuses on enhancing the position and competitiveness of Bahrainis in the private sector, equipping Bahrainis with suitable skills for career development in the private sector, and prioritising enterprise growth, digitisation, and sustainability, and supporting the development of the ecosystem surrounding the labour market and private sector.
