Hi-tech way to disinfect ORs at KHAMH

State-of-the-art continuous disinfection technology for operating rooms (ORs) has been unveiled at King Hamad American Mission Hospital (KHAMH), marking a significant advancement in healthcare and infection control standards in Bahrain.

The launch event was held last week under the patronage of Supreme Council for Health chairman Lieutenant General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al Khalifa and Denmark’s ambassador to Bahrain Liselotte Plesner.

A comprehensive presentation highlighted the importance of Danish company UV Medico’s advanced disinfection technology in enhancing healthcare quality and providing cost-effective solutions against infectious diseases, aiding healthcare professionals in reducing antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

Also in attendance were AMH corporate chief executive officer (CEO) and chief medical officer Dr George Cheriyan, AMH consultant head of internal medicine and infectious diseases Dr Jameela Al Salman, National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) chief executive Dr Ahmed Al Ansari, Governmental Hospital chief executive Dr Maryam Al Jalahma, Primary Health Care Centres chief executive Dr Ijlal Al Alawi, Health Minister representative Dr Lulwa Showaiter, UV Medico Europe chief executive Andres Samuelson, UV Medico co-founder and chairman Peter Johansen and UV Medico MENA Director Mohammed Fawzi.
